This year marks a huge milestone for us—50 years of Shi Kon Martial Arts!
From our humble beginnings to the vibrant, welcoming community we are today, the dojo has been a place of growth, friendship, teamwork, discipline, and lifelong learning. We’re incredibly proud of the journey so far and, more importantly, excited about what’s still to come.
To honour this momentous occasion, we’re hosting a special 50th Anniversary Party to join Steve, Ann, Caroline, Mike and Rhianna at Lordswood Leisure Centre, ME5 8YE – and you’re invited!
50th Anniversary Party – 27th December 2025 6.30PM – 10PM
We’ll be celebrating in style with an unforgettable event on Saturday 27th December 2025. Expect fun, memories, connection, and a few surprises along the way. It’s a chance for students past and present, families, and friends to come together and mark this special chapter in our Shi Kon Martial Arts story. We’ve booked an amazing venue, sorted the music, balloons, cake and are planning a night to remember — filled with: an exclusive photo booth, awards, food, fun and celebrations with our incredible community.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to our fundraiser, so by attending, you’ll not only be part of something special you’ll also be helping to shape the future of the dojo for the next generation. Let’s get dressed up and make this celebration one for the history books!

Our Fundraiser: Investing in the Future of Our Dojo
We’re launching a fundraiser to support two important improvements to our training space. Our goal is to raise £3,750, and we’re asking for your help to get us there.
What We’re Raising Funds For:
1. New Mats for the Dojo
Our training mats have been part of thousands of lessons, coaching courses, seminars and memories. But after years of use, they’re now tired and worn. We want to replace them with brand new mats to refresh the space and ensure that it continues to be safe, high-quality, and enjoyable for everyone who trains here.
2. A Defibrillator for Student and Staff Safety
Student well being is always our top priority. That’s why we’re raising funds to purchase a defibrillator for the dojo. Having one on-site could save lives in an emergency and gives peace of mind to every parent, student, and instructor.
This fundraiser is about more than just equipment—it’s about investing in the health, safety, and future of our entire Shi Kon family.
